The name of this picture is called "Marilyn Monroe"
He used the three triadic colors. (Cyan, yellow and magenta)
I've noticed that the colors don't cover the artwork completely.


The title of this is "Campbell's soup can"
He used red and green as complementary colors.
I noticed that the colors don't fill in the arts empty space.

Compare and contrast vector graphics and pixel images. Vector graphics dont change resolution when you make it larger, pixel images look worse as you make it larger because the pixels used don't have curves.

Steve Jobs

Who is Steve Jobs?
Steve Jobs is the co-founder of the Apple corporation.

What company was he CEO for many years?
Apple

What did he do for the computer industry?
Made the apple company able to produce some of the best computers and computer software available.

How did this man impact the graphic design industry?
A lot of the people in the graphic design industry use macintosh computers because of their small size and simple layout.

Review week 8

Why must designers pay close attention to how color is utilized within a composition?
So they can get the viewers full attention on their art.

Why is the color wheel an important tool for graphic designers?
So the artist can find colors that can brighten up or draw attention to the art.

The right use of color can do what?

How do we see color if objects "have no color of their own"?
They reflect/absorb colors in the visible light spectrum.
What is a glass prism?
A clear triangular shape that can refract white light into all the colors visible.
What seven colors result when white light is refracted through a prism?
Blue, green, yellow, violet, red, orange and indigo.
Describe hue?
The color itself
When does white light occur?
When all visible wavelengths hit the eye.
When does black light occur?
When no light reaches the eye.
How color is perceived depends on what?
Depends on the type of light seen with.
What is a color wheel?
visual tool that shows the relationship between primary, secondary and tertiary colors.
What are primary colors? Name them?
Red, blue and yellow
What are secondary colors? Name them?
A mixture of the primary colors. Orange, green and purple.
What are tertiary colors? Name them?
when primary and secondary colors are mixed. Red-orange, yellow-orange, blue-green, blue violet, red-violet.
What are neutral colors? How can they be created?
Colors of very low saturation

Help put the focus on other colors.

Colors that are positioned opposite each other on the color wheel. Red/green, Blue/orange, yellow/purple

When you add white to a color to produce a high value color.
What is saturation/intensity?
Brightness of a color.

You produce a dull tone.
